In the Grantee tab of the Digital Notecard (the icon is two transparent people on the left-side of the card), you can find the “Of Int.” (of interest) and “Of 8/8” toggle. By default, the toggle is grey and switched to the left, meaning that an “Of Interest” conveyance is in effect. When you click on the toggle, it will switch to the right and turn teal, meaning that an “Of 8/8” conveyance is in effect. Below you can learn more about the “Of Int.” and “Of 8/8” Grantee toggle.
Of Int., or “of interest,” is the default position. This is used when the grantee of a conveyance is being granted all or some portion of the grantor’s interest, whatever that may be. In the example below, Julia owns half of the surface and minerals in this AOI and conveys .2 (20%) of her interest to Allison. In the Ownership Report you can see that Allison now has .1 (10%) of the surface and minerals, rather than 20% had this been an “Of 8/8” conveyance.
When you click on the toggle it will switch to of 8/8. This means that the grantee of the conveyance will be granted all or a portion of the whole AOI, or subtract(s) if you add subtracts through the subtract and depth tool. You will find that if you attempt to grant more than the grantor currently owns, a warning flag will appear. In the example below, Julia owns half of the surface and minerals in this AOI and conveys .2 (20%) of 8/8 to Allison. In the Ownership Report you can see that Allison now has .2 (20%) of the surface and minerals, and Julia is left with .3 (30%).
